The typical rule regarding homework is ten minutes times the grade level of the child. Therefore, third graders should have no more than thirty minutes of homework each night. I know that parents do not have a great deal of time each night to spend on homework and I believe that family time is important. I do not give a great deal of homework and students usually have adequate time to finish tasks during school. The following is a homework schedule that I go by each week.
